![]() ![]() Kai: I really felt that she should have said SOMETHING kind of like, “I am justified!” to the stepsisters and stepmother at the end because they were REALLY mean, but she just said, “I forgive you” and I’m just like … ennnnnnnhhhhhh.Flying as SURGE 22, the strategic bomber took from runway 27, spent some time in a holding to the east of the airfield then carried out a flypast with tanker KC-135R QID 71 from Mildenhall in the lead and eventually returned for an overhead break for a visual landing. ![]() Karson: It kind of felt like she needed to be parented. I mean, she has a horse that she can ride away! She’s good and she’s kind, but there’s no compelling reason for her to obey her stepmother and stepsisters, there’s no reason for her to take care of them once they fire the household servants. Kai: Yeah, and there was one shot where she walked down the staircase, it was a medium shot, and I know exactly what they were imitating - they were imitating in Harry Potter, the fourth one, where Hermione walked down the steps, and it kind of looked exactly the same in that shot.Īlison: One thing I didn’t like, and this is an issue with the Cinderella story in general, is that it’s kind of a celebration of a girl being a very passive character. Some of them were very effective - like the scene where Cinderella finds out her father is dead, the camera does a dizzying tilting pan over her that really makes you feel her grief. Because you just have to get the story through.Īlison: Yeah, there were a lot of sweeping shots. And the cinematography in the first part was really nice but I think it could have been cut to half the time it took up. Kai: One thing I noticed is that in the beginning I really got the story in the beginning, but I think the shots could have been cut longer. Karson: I didn’t like how when she was the maid, she wasn’t wearing any makeup but then when she was in the gown her face looked totally different. ‘International Women’s Day has just gone': Cinderella star Lily James says criticism of her weight is wearing thinĪlison: OK, what didn’t you like about the movie?.Cinderella, reviewed: Someday, my reboot will come.Karson: And there’s a little boy in a cape! Recommended from Editorial Kai: I’m estimating that about 25 to 50% of the crowd is going to be little girls in Disney dresses. Karson: (quoting an oft-cited line of dialogue) “Be kind and have courage.” This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. The carriage was amazing.Īlison: What do you guys think the message was behind this movie? It looked like real animals that were just trained really well. Kai: I really liked the special effects and how they did the animals. Her entrance was magnificent, when she’s hidden behind that epic hat. From a design perspective, it was beautiful - the clothes were gorgeous, I especially love Cate Blanchette’s outfits. I really don’t think was worth itĪlison: And very sparkly, yes. Kai: I was more into The Little Mermaid … and Frozen.Īlison: How did you think this movie translated to live action? It was very Disney-ish, of course. ![]() Were you a big fan of the original cartoon? Karson: I like how they reenact the cartoon movie and how they had a lot of parts that were the exact same as in the cartoon.Īlison: Yeah, like the cat and the mice (Gus-Gus! Sadly, though, the mice don’t talk, which means there’s no adorable “Cinderelly!” squeaking). I liked it, though, there was kind of a little twist. Kai: I thought it was first of all pretty Disney-like.
